2015 Holiday Heat Treat

2014-12-13 21.22.09

Congrats, you found us! There was not enough space on the label to share with you what we wanted to share, so we made this page to tell you about our hot sauces. For pairing recommendations, you know who to talk to! (Erik. Not me. Definitely not me…)

Depending on the batch you received, the ingredients will vary. Here’s a list of all the ingredients we used in case you may have any food allergies: Proprietary blend of chilies, garlic, Hawaiian sea salt, sugar, raisins, apple cider vinegar, coffee, tomatoes, black pepper, oranges, chocolate.

Sokha’s Sweet Heat:
Inspiration for this batch came from hand picked peppers we got from a friend’s garden. He was moving and generously donated the chili’s that he and his family cultivated. Originally called “The Clusterf**k”, due to the myriad of chilis that we blended in there, we finally decided to name it ‘Sokha’s Sweet Heat’ due to the sweet flavors that first hit the tongue before the onset of the heat comes on.
Our heat rating for this is a 5 out of 10.

Xiuhtecuhtli:
(contains chocolate, raisins, coffee, and oranges)
This batch is named after the Aztec ‘God of Fire’.
Our heat rating for this is a 7 out of 10.

Smokin’ Caribbean Gold:
Our heat rating for this is a 6 out of 10.
Inspired by Yucatan and Caribbean style fresh habanero sauces.

Dolores’ Texas Heat:
Our heat rating for this is a 9 out of 10.
Named after and inspired by E’s grandma’s hot sauce. She would used to make this by the feel of her hand.

Culo del Fuego:
Our heat rating for this is a 7 out of 10.

Fun facts and links:
Tepin‘ is an Aztek word for ‘flea’. It is also the state native pepper of Texas.

Pequin grows in the wild and are loved by birds because they are small in size and they do not feel the effect of the heat.
